Live music, art, shows at Camp Bestival.

Looking for something a little different to do with the children this summer? Camp Bestival is held in the grounds of Lulwort Castle in Dorset. It is a brilliant fusion of live music, art, shows for children and adults, interactive activities and more. Camp Bestival is a rainbow of creativity, making a colourful experience for all of the family. We have booked our tickets and accommodation already!

Dorset is a stunning and historic coastal county with areas of outstanding beauty. The famous spectacular cliffs of the Jurassic coastline make for breath-taking coastal walks. Dorset has many market towns – quintessentially English with cosy tea rooms and quirky shops to potter around and explore. There are several historical houses and gardens that are truly stunning and England’s first national heritage site the chalk giant at Cerne Abbas.

After the excitement and music festivities of Camp Bestival explore all that the tranquillity and beauty that Dorset has to offer.

Portland Castle – perfect for family and friends

Portland CastlePortland Castle is perfect for large gatherings, so why not get a group of family and friends together to enjoy Camp Bestival: the children get to enjoy this fabulous experience with their friends and create memories never to be forgotten and the adults get to party with the added benefit of luxury and sophistication.

Portland Castle has 9 bedrooms and will accommodate up to 20 people.  With its own helipad and indoor heated swimming pool you really can enjoy the finer things in life whilst embracing the festival spirit.

On arrival your first impression will be that of the grand reception hall giving you a feeling of the opulent surroundings you will enjoy in your own private castle. With plenty of reception areas some relaxed and others more formal you will be spoilt for choice as to which room you choose to relax or entertain.

9 bedroom CastleThe library has French doors that open onto one of the many terraced areas which are ideal for alfresco dining or drinks! The dining room and castle bar seat up to 40 people allowing you to create the most amazing supper parties while the conservatory offers a less formal and relaxed dining area with seating for just sitting and chilling whilst admiring the views out to sea.

The kitchen is extremely well equipped and has a large table perfect for the children to gather together after a day singing and dancing to relax and play cards or games together.

The drawing room has a more formal sitting area with fantastic views. There is an open fire, wide flat screen TV and Bose surround sound system. The study is perfect to tuck yourself away in for an hour or two and perhaps catch up on a little work!

All of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and are quite enchanting.

Outside, there are many landscaped gardens, the Italian garden with its lily ponds and rose beds is as pretty as a picture and the ornamental fountain makes it picture perfect!  The tropical garden has its own waterfall, the gardens are also home to a Japanese tea house, there is also a children’s play house and tree house. Many magical adventures I am sure will be created here.

Situated in Portland with its rich historical sites there is much to do and see without having to travel far.

Portland Bill renowned for its lighthouse is well worth visiting. The old lower lighthouse is now a bird observatory. The rugged beauty of this piece of coast is to be admired and the fierce currents add to the drama of Portland Bill.

Nearby is Chesil Beach a stretch of pebble beach that is 18 miles long. Home to The Fleet Lagoon – a haven for wildlife both Chesil Beach and the Lagoon are world heritage sites.

Enjoy your own family adventure in Portland Castle – Camp Bestival could be the start of a truly amazing week!

Sleeps: bedrooms 9, sleeps 20.

Sophisticated four bedroom accommodation

Mulberry HouseMulberry House is located just two minutes’ walk away from the classic market town of Bridport’s town centre, with its lovely old buildings and many restaurants and pubs. Mulberry House has the perfect location set in 2 thirds of an acre you are cloistered in a peaceful haven yet have the benefits that a town has to offer almost on your doorstep.
